The Bhopal School of Social Sciences celebrated International Women’s Day on 7 March 2026 with an engaging programme organized by the Women Cell under the theme “Women: The Voice, The Vision.” The event began with a warm welcome and introduction to the theme, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp and a devotional invocation. The gathering was formally welcomed by the Principal, Fr. John P. J., who highlighted the importance of recognizing women’s contributions in shaping society. The Chief Guest, Dr. Monica Shukla, IPS, addressed the audience and shared inspiring insights on women’s leadership, resilience, and empowerment. The programme featured a powerful theatrical performance by Ms. Arti Vishwakarma and a lively musical presentation by BSSS Rhythm, which added vibrancy to the celebration. An NGO run by Mrs. Mita Wadhwa carried on a felicitation ceremony to acknowledg Dr. Sr. Leema Jacob, Vice Principal BSSS, for tirelessly working for social upliftment of women and their staff. A special highlight of the day was the book release of “WINGS – Women’s Independence Nurturing Growth and Strength,” edited by Dr. Yashi Tiwari and Dr. Neelakshi Arora, a compilation of 28 scholarly chapters contributed by researchers and professors celebrating women’s empowerment and resilience. The event concluded with the presentation of mementos to distinguished guests — Dr. Sr. Leema Jacob, Fr. Jomi Panithas, and Sr. Rohini Jadhav — followed by a vote of thanks, marking an inspiring tribute to women’s strength, voice, and vision.
